Back to Basics in the Age of AI

Last weekend I attended the “Unlocking the Future of Education: Schools of the Future” event in Athens, Greece, and I’ve been thinking about it since. What stayed with me was something I didn’t expect.Very little focus on AI.Most of the conversations went back to the basics. What does learning actually look like? What do students really need? What are we trying to build in the classroom? When AI did come up, it was mostly around misuse, school policies, “use it or lose it”, and this idea of knowledge collapse. And it made me pause.Maybe the question is not what we add next.Maybe it’s what we don’t want to lose. The thinkingThe creatingThe human part of learningCurious how others are seeing this, especially in relation to how we’re using AI in practice.
