How is your school actually talking about AI?
Hi everyone!I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on how fast AI is moving in education. It feels like many schools are understandably rushing to adopt tools and get policies written, often by appointing a dedicated AI Lead. But my concern is that we might be missing the chance to actually carve out time to discuss AI together as a whole staff body (that's what websites like these are for I guess!).I’m really curious to open a discussion about how you are all embedding AI in your schools and what your experience is with these conversations. I’d love to know:When and how often is AI being discussed? (Are you talking about it in whole-staff briefings, faculty meetings, or INSET days?)What is actually being discussed during these times?Communication: Are there any bulletins or newsletters going around that specifically mention AI?Leadership: Does your school have an AI Lead, and does everyone actually know who they are?Procedures: Do staff know what the reporting procedures are if there are concerns or if something goes wrong? It often feels like the approach is "pick a tool, write a policy, and we're done." I'd love to hear how your schools are keeping the ongoing conversation alive. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!

The workgroup is made up of representatives from across subject areas, from admin, and I think we even have some staff members on the team. We developed policy statements for faculty and for students. Then last semester, we developed an AI module to teach the student policies to students in...
