TutorClue Review: AI Tool for Education

TutorClue is a parent-managed AI tutor designed to help K–12 students understand their schoolwork instead of simply completing it for them. Students can ask questions by typing or speaking and choose from Homework Help, Explain Something, Quiz Me and Writing Help. TutorClue responds with age-appropriate explanations, hints and step-by-step guidance that encourage students to think through problems themselves. Its language, pacing and interface adapt across four grade ranges, from K–2 through Grades 9–12. Parents create and manage student profiles, select each child’s grade range, control available learning tools and can pause access when needed. Students sign in using a nickname and six-digit passcode, so no child email address is required. TutorClue is privacy-minded by design. Chats are not stored in its database, voice questions are converted to text by the device without retaining recordings, and there are no advertisements or student-to-student features. Optional homework-photo support is available with parent-controlled access, and submitted photos are processed for the question rather than stored. A free plan supports one student profile. Family Premium costs $9.99 per month and includes up to five student profiles, higher daily usage limits and homework-photo support.
