The next AI in education events: Dan Fitzpatrick's free online masterclass The Anatomy of an AI Agent runs on 12 October 2026, followed by EdTech Week in New York (13 to 15 October) and the Cambridge AI in Education Summit (15 to 16 October). The free online AI for Education Summit follows on 7 November.

12 Oct 2026: The Anatomy of an AI Agent masterclass (online)

Dan Fitzpatrick runs this free live masterclass on Monday 12 October from 4pm to 5pm UK time on Google Meet. It explains how to design a useful and safe AI agent in six parts, from its aim and guidance to triggers and safeguards. It is for teachers, school and college leaders, and anyone leading AI across a trust or district. Registration is required.

Why it matters for schools: Agents that act on their own are arriving in school software, so leaders need a shared way to judge what an agent should and should not be allowed to do.

13 to 15 Oct 2026: EdTech Week (in person, New York)

EdTech Week 2026 runs from 13 to 15 October at Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York. It brings together edtech founders, investors, researchers and education leaders, with speakers from Anthropic and OpenAI among those listed. Ticket prices are on the organiser's website.

Why it matters for schools: It is mainly an industry event, but district innovation leads can use it to see which AI products are coming and to question vendors directly.

15 to 16 Oct 2026: Cambridge AI in Education Summit (in person, Cambridge)

The Cambridge AI in Education Summit 26 takes place on 15 and 16 October at the Hilton Cambridge City Centre in the UK. The whole event is about AI in education, though the organiser's page still lists several programme details as to be confirmed, and no price is shown on the event page.

Why it matters for schools: It suits assessment, curriculum and research staff who want to follow how AI is changing teaching, learning and assessment.

4 to 5 Nov 2026: EDUtech Asia (in person, Singapore)

EDUtech Asia 2026 runs on 4 and 5 November at Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, with workshops on 3 November. This year's theme is AI that strengthens rather than replaces people, covering AI teaching assistants, personalised learning and responsible governance. The exhibition is free and the conference is paid. It is for teachers and school and university leaders across Asia.

Why it matters for schools: International schools in the region can compare approaches to AI governance with peers and see many vendors in one place.

7 Nov 2026: AI for Education Summit (online)

AI for Education's free online summit runs on Saturday 7 November from 10am to 3pm Eastern Time, with recordings sent to registrants the same day. Sessions focus on AI literacy, including the organiser's SEE Framework and how to evaluate generative AI tools used in schools. It is designed for teachers, school leaders and students.

Why it matters for schools: It is a no-cost way to give staff structured AI literacy training, and the recordings make it usable for teams who cannot attend live.

10 to 12 Nov 2026: GESS Dubai (in person, Dubai)

GESS Dubai runs from 10 to 12 November at Dubai World Trade Centre, with a free pass and free CPD sessions. The organiser expects more than 7,500 educators, edtech leaders and suppliers, and its EdTech in Action programme looks at how AI and immersive technology are changing education.

Why it matters for schools: For schools in the Middle East it is a free way to combine CPD with seeing AI products and asking suppliers hard questions in person.

12 to 13 Nov 2026: AI and the Future of Education Conference (online)

American Public University System hosts this free online conference on 12 and 13 November, open to the public. It focuses on the role of AI in postsecondary education and is aimed at educators and scholars working in colleges and universities.

Why it matters for schools: Further and higher education staff can join from anywhere at no cost, which makes it a practical option for teams without a travel budget.

16 to 18 Nov 2026: AI for Education Conference, AIFE 2026 (in person, Singapore)

The National Institute of Education at Nanyang Technological University hosts AIFE 2026 from 16 to 18 November on its Singapore campus. The programme includes keynotes, paper sessions, workshops and a trade show on AI across schools, higher education and lifelong learning. It is aimed at researchers, practitioners, policymakers and industry, and no price is shown on the event page.

Why it matters for schools: It puts teacher educators and researchers alongside practitioners, which suits anyone who wants evidence rather than sales pitches.

16 to 19 Nov 2026: OLC Accelerate (in person, Orlando)

The Online Learning Consortium's Accelerate conference runs from 16 to 19 November at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. It includes an AI Exploration Zone on generative AI in teaching, learning and the workforce. It is for instructional designers, educators and leaders in schools, universities and corporate training.

Why it matters for schools: Online and blended learning teams can see how peers are redesigning courses and assessment around AI.

18 to 19 Nov 2026: Schools & Academies Show (in person, Birmingham)

The Schools & Academies Show comes to Hall 1 at the NEC in Birmingham on 18 and 19 November. The organiser expects around 4,000 senior leaders from schools and trusts, including heads, governors, business managers and SENCOs. AI features within its edtech and digital transformation sessions rather than as a dedicated track.

Why it matters for schools: It is a good place for school and trust leaders in England to connect AI decisions with funding, staffing and digital strategy.

25 to 26 Nov 2026: UNU Macau AI Conference (in person, Macau)

United Nations University's institute in Macau holds its AI Conference 2026 on 25 and 26 November in Macau SAR, China, on AI and education, covering both AI for learning and learning about AI. It brings together policymakers, education leaders, researchers and young innovators, with a youth competition and workshops. No price is shown on the event page.

Why it matters for schools: It gives a global policy view, useful for system leaders tracking how governments and the UN are framing AI in education.

2 to 4 Dec 2026: OEB Global (in person, Berlin)

OEB Global 2026 runs from 2 to 4 December in Berlin. This year's theme is sovereign learning, looking at trust, agency and how AI is reshaping education, and which human capabilities need deliberate attention. Tickets are paid. It draws educators, researchers, policymakers and edtech teams from across sectors.

Why it matters for schools: It is strongest for higher education, further education and workplace learning leaders who want an international, cross-sector view.

7 Dec 2026: Hour of AI (in class, free)

Hour of AI offers free one-hour AI literacy activities that teachers can run in class during Computer Science Education Week, starting on 7 December, plus free webinars and a classroom toolkit. It is for pupils of all ages. The Hour of AI site gives the window as 7 to 11 December, while the CS Education Week site gives 7 to 13 December.

Why it matters for schools: It is a low-effort way to give every class a first structured lesson on how AI works, with no cost and no specialist knowledge needed.

14 to 15 Jan 2027: Hi, AI! conference (online)

Learning Technology Center of Illinois runs its online Hi, AI! conference on 14 and 15 January 2027. Tickets cost $65, rising to $75 after 18 November, and include 12 hours of professional development. Sessions cover personalisation, admin automation, AI policy and safe, ethical use, for K-12 teachers, leaders, technology coaches and librarians.

Why it matters for schools: It offers a large block of AI-focused professional development at low cost and without travel.

20 to 22 Jan 2027: Bett UK (in person, London)

Bett UK 2027 runs from 20 to 22 January at ExCeL London and is free for educators. The organiser expects more than 37,000 educators, policymakers and edtech companies from over 130 countries, and AI has featured prominently in its recent schools programme.

Why it matters for schools: It is the largest place in the UK to compare AI products side by side, so go with a shortlist and questions about data protection and evidence.

26 to 29 Jan 2027: FETC (in person, Orlando)

FETC 2027 runs from 26 to 29 January at Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, with AI among its stated focus areas. Lower summer rates apply until 30 October, group discounts are available and expo passes are free for qualifying educators. It is for K-12 leaders, teachers and technology specialists.

Why it matters for schools: US district technology teams can compare AI tools and policies with peers in one place.

13 to 16 Mar 2027: SXSW EDU (in person, Austin)

SXSW EDU 2027 runs from 13 to 16 March in Austin, Texas, with badges from $595 rising closer to the event. It covers schools, universities, edtech and policy, and AI appears through its Future of Tech track rather than a dedicated strand. It is for educators, leaders and innovators.

Why it matters for schools: It suits leaders who want AI discussed alongside wider questions of policy, equity and school design.
